Step By Step Process
Zones, also known as geofences, are a useful tool to obtain data about your fleets in a specific geographic region. In addition you can pair them with alarms when specific vessels enter or exit said zone.
Click on the Zones Icon
Start creating a new zone by clicking on "New". Alternatively, edit an existing zone by clicking "Edit".
Select the desired shape for the zone you want.
You can draw your own zone by selecting the polygon shaped option.
Click on the Save icon
Clicking on the floppy diskwill save what you are viewing as a default view. This means that after clicking this a new Map view will appear under the map tab. Additionally, this view becomes your default view. Which means next time you log in to ShipTracks what you are viewing in you screen will be displayed.
Tips and Tricks
Once you have your zones set up and ready to go, you can set up alarms and pull historical reports for desired vessels which have crossed the zone area.
