Step By Step Process
Before creating alarms make sure you have these two prerequisites in place:

- HAVE A ZONE AROUND THE AREA OF INTEREST
- ADD CONTACT INFORMATION UNDER THE SETTING TAB TO RECEIVE ALARM NOTIFICATIONS
Define Your Alarm
Head over and select new at the top of the Alarms window pane. A new pane within the ShipTracks portal will open. here you will be able to select the alarm you need.
Entry/ Exit Alarm
Entry/ Exit alarms are best paired with zones. By drawing a zone around the area of interest you will have more accurate and specific notifications. In addition you can specify if you want to get notified when vessels either eneter or exit the area of interest.
Define which vessels will trigger the alarm
An alarm can be triggered when:
A) ANY OR ALL VESSELS ENTER OR/AND EXIT THE ZONE,
B) WHEN VESSELS FROM YOUR FLEET CROSS THE ZONE,
C) SPECIFIC VESSELS FROM YOUR CHOOSING NOT NECESSERALY IN FLEET,
D) VESSELS THAT MATCH A CERTAIN CATEGORY OR TYPE
Choose what event from the vessels selected will trigger the alarm
Events for this alarm type include:
ENTRY: WHEN THE VESSEL ENTERS ZONE
EXIT: WHEN VESSEL EXITS THE ZONE
BOTH: ONCE WHEN THE VESSEL ENTERS ZONE, ONCE AFTER EXITING ZONE
Speed Alarms
This alarm type allows you to set parameters that will trigger an alarm when a defined vessels go above or below certain speeds through the specified zone or region you define through the Alarm setting process.
Arrivals/ Departures Alarms
This alarm type will notify you when the vessel(s) you have specified departs or arrive at its destination. For example, you can see below the Selecao vessel departing from San Francisco bay. You can click on the alarm notification to get more details about the alarm.
